Introduction to International Intellectual Property Training Institute

The International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI), a sub-organization of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), is responsible for intellectual property (IP) education in Korea. In collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), we offer educational IP programs to public and private sector IP officials from under-developed and developing countries, to enhance their IP knowledge and to support the development of IP systems in those countries.

The demand for IP education has increased with the rapid development of the knowledge-based society in the world. To respond to the demand, we have made great efforts to offer various ranges of educational IP programs to people from a cross-section of the community, including the KIPO staff and patent attorneys, as well as corporate chief executive officers, researchers, and students. Adhering to the mission of our Charter of Intellectual Property Education, we have strived to cultivate IP human resources.

The International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI) is committed to the following objectives for the twofold purpose of helping domestic and international intellectual property (IP) professionals become leaders in the information and knowledge society and laying a foundation for the creation of IP through the promotion of invention education. Furthermore, we aim to become a world-class IP training organization by strengthening international cooperation in the field of IP education.
